Project 3
Aim: To create a poster with using type and fonts as main focus and to convey a strong message. Theme chosen is Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav - celebrating 75th Indipendence day of India
Inspiration: Inspiration was taken from kinetic sculpure called Square by Jeniffer Townley. The base of this simple but effective sculpture is formed by four white gears to which two overlapping black grids are connected. Driven by the gears, both of the grids move in a circle, one clockwise, the other counter clockwise. Although the grids merely consist of equally shaped squares, when they overlap they seem to merge and form new patterns. When the whole is moving, small and big squares and rectangles are constantly changing their shape, direction and position. As some figures grow, others around them get smaller. All the lines that form the changing patterns vary but the geometry stays perfectly balanced and aligned.
